About Our Wood Sculptures The current wood sculptures featured on UpsideLiving.com are part of the Celebrating the Seas collection. The collection is comprised of dozens of sculptures, each of which has been hand-carved from a single block of Tropical Oak. Included in the collection are playful yet classic, intricately designed three-dimensional sculpture motifs such as “Dance of the Dolphins,” “Festival of the Sea,” “Inspired Sailfish,” and many more breathtaking designs. All sculptures are imported directly from Indonesia and expertly carved by skilled artisans.
FAQ's About Our Wood Sculptures
Q. The description says that no two sculptures are alike? Does that mean I may receive a different sculpture than what’s pictured?
A. Maybe. Though every effort is made to keep the images of the wooden sculptures on UpsideLiving.com updated, there may be times when a sculpture shown has actually already been sold. Inventory changes quickly and though we do attempt to keep images up-to-date with what’s available in our current inventory, doing so is not always possible. Though the sculpture you receive may not be identical to that pictured, it will be similar with only the slightest of variations.
Q. From what type of wood are your wooden sculptures carved?
A. All of our wooden sculptures are carved from Tropical Oak wood, which is very similar to Teak wood.
Q. Must the sculptures be kept indoors?
A. No. Our wooden sculptures come from nature and thus, can exist in natural, outdoorsy settings. However, to preserve the hue and grandeur of the sculptures, we do recommend that they be treated with a wood sealer as direct sunlight or repeated exposure to the elements will wear on the sculpture.
Q. What’s the best way to keep my sculpture in optimal condition?
A. Bi-weekly dusting and an annual polishing with Teak oil will keep your wooden sculpture in show condition. Note: If you plan to display the sculpture outdoors, be sure to treat it with a wood sealer to protect it from sun and weather wear. Then continue with maintenance as described above.
Q. Is there any assembly required?
A. No. Each statue is carved from a single block of Tropical Oak. When your sculpture arrives, simply unwrap it and put it on display!
Q. How long will it take to receive my wooden sculpture?
A. Each statue is imported directly from Indonesia to your home or business using specialized freight carriers. Therefore, the customary delivery time is within 10 business days. However, in some cases, delivery can be expedited.
Q. Can the wooden sculptures be shipped internationally?
A. Currently, we offer standard international shipping to Canada, the United Kingdom, and many nations in Europe. However, shipping is available to select additional destinations upon request. Feel free to contact us is you require shipping to a location not listed above.
Q. How can I send a wooden sculpture as a gift or to an address that’s different than my own?
A. That’s simple! Just provide us with the delivery address and we will ship your sculpture to whatever home or business that you specify. There is no additional charge for this service.
Q. What do I do if my sculpture arrives damaged?
A. Our shipping companies take great care to insure that our sculptures are as protected during the shipping and delivery process. However, mistakes do happen and we’re ready to correct them when they do. Therefore, if your wooden sculpture arrives damaged, there is absolutely no need to worry! Simply contact us as soon as you notice the damage. In turn, we’ll file an insurance claim with the shipping service on your behalf to quickly resolve the issue.
Q. What is your return policy for wooden sculpture purchases?
A. You can return your wooden sculpture if you are not completely satisfied with it. If you opt to do this, you will receive merchandise credit for the purchase price of the statue, which can be used toward future UpsideLiving.com purchases; shipping costs to receive the statue, however, cannot be refunded. Additionally, you will be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Q. May I request a custom-designed wooden sculpture?
A. You may. Our artisans are open to requests for commissioned pieces. However, it is at the discretion of the artisans as to whether they will be able to create the requested design.
