About Our Pillows & Throws
 Bowron Sheepskin Pillows & Throws
The Bowron sheepskin pillows and throws we carry are literally some of the most luxuriant in the world. The sheepskin pelts used to create the products are harvested from the finest flocks of sheep from Australia and New Zealand and then carefully manufactured to produce the exceptional quality for which Bowron has become known. Plus, all of our Bowron sheepskin products are manufactured with Mother Nature in mind; environmentally friendly chemicals are used during the production of the rugs only when necessary and every effort is made to preserve the natural brilliance of the pelts.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What’s the best way to keep my Sheepskin pillows and throws in pristine condition?
A. As with any luxury product, you do want to take good care of you sheepskin pillows and throws. The best way to do that is to make sure that you’re using proper washing, drying, and grooming techniques:
Washing:
Always read the care labels on each product before using any method of cleansing. Select products may be able to be machine-washed; if that’s the case, the care label will indicate that. Generally, we recommend that you either hand wash your natural-colored sheepskin pillow / throw or take it to a dry cleaner skilled in sheepskin care. If you opt to clean your natural-colored sheepskin pillow or throw yourself, be sure to use lukewarm water (38°C / 100°F) and a mild liquid detergent. (No Bleach!) Dry cleaning is typically required for all color-dyed sheepskin products.
Drying:
If you are cleansing your own natural-colored sheepskin pillow or throw, it’s best to allow it to air dry; be sure to keep it away from direct sunlight. Do NOT use a dryer or any other form of artificial heat. NOTE: You may need to stretch your sheepskin throw slightly while it’s still damp to assist it in returning to its original shape.
Grooming:
Since a sheep’s mane is naturally curly, you may need to brush your sheepskin pillow or throw in order to fluff and straighten the hairs. We recommend using a comb or wire brush. It’s best to groom your sheepskin product twice: once while still damp and a second time after the rug is dry.
Q. Are your sheepskin pillows lined? A. Yes. Each sheepskin pillow contains a removable polyester insert lining.
Q. What material is on the other side of the one-sided sheepskin pillows? A. The second side of most one-sided sheepskin pillows is a matching polyester micro suede fiber.
Q. What's the best way to store my sheepskin pillows? A. For the best results, store your sheepskin pillows in a cool, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight.
