About Our Silk Floral Designs
Art imitates life to perfection with every arrangement in our silk floral designs collection, thanks to veteran designer Laurie Burke. She uses only the highest quality silk flowers in her arrangements, the inspiration for which comes from Mother Nature herself—especially the Caribbean. As a result, her designs are so life like that even the most talented of florists might be caught trying to inhale the aroma they’d expect from such beautiful creations. Burke produces her wondrous silk floral arrangements through her company, Immortalis Botanicals.
FAQ's About Our Silk Floral Designs
Q. What tips can you provide for caring for my silk flowers?
A. If dust accumulates on your silk flowers, begin removing the dust by either dry dusting your flowers (with a cloth or feather duster) or low heat hair dryer. To bring back the natural brilliance of your silk flowers, follow up by wiping the flowers down with a damp cloth on a regular basis. The alternative: The above method can be a bit time consuming. If you’re looking for a “quick-clean” option, you may want to try using a chemical cleaning spray especially made for silk flowers. However, do so at your own risk. Be sure to test a small portion of a non-visible part of your arrangement some chemical silk flower products may cause discoloration.
NOTE: Whether you use the primary method described above or the alternative, be sure not to wipe the dust off of your silk floral arrangements. Otherwise, you could disturb the natural grain of the silk flowers. Instead, dab or pat the dust away.
Q. Will sunlight cause my silk flowers to fade?A. Generally speaking, occasional exposure or placement in a location that receives sunlight part of the day will not noticeably change the color of your arrangement. However, direct sunlight exposure over an extended period can cause discoloration.
Q. Are silk flowers actually made out of silk?
A. Actually, no. They are most commonly made from silk-screened polyester fabric. However, silk flowers get their name from the fabric that was first used to create the natural looking floral arrangements: Silk, of course. Today, silk is not used because the cost of silk is too high and because today’s fabrics actually provide a more realistic look than silk was ever able to provide. Plus, using an alternative fabric allows manufacturers more versatility as they attempt to recreate the natural plant life Mother Nature creates.
Q. How long will it take to receive my silk floral arrangements?
A. The standard delivery time for all of our silk floral products is within two (2) weeks. Expedited service, because of the customization involved with each arrangement, is not available.
